Well this is the best news I’ve heard all day. The Eagles have the Saints 2023 first round pick. I thought maybe they’d snatch an offensive lineman and reach on Malik Willis or Kenny Pickett if still there. Turns out Mickey Loomis doesn’t want anything to do with the QB situation in tonight’s draft:

Even if this is a smokescreen, it’d be out of character for the Saints to pick a QB early. They haven’t taken one in the first round since since 1971:

Which means Jameis Winston, who’s coming off an ACL tear, is QB1.  Roll the tape!

Are the sports gods finally smiling down on Philadelphia? Is it because we had to endure the Ben Simmons summer training camp videos for five years? If that’s the case, they were all worth it when the Eagles come off a playoff season with a top-10 pick next spring. I just hope Jameis doesn’t get benched.
