This was floating around on Thursday and seems even more apropos after last night’s debacle of a loss in Detroit. It comes from Wosny Lambre on The Ringer’s NBA Show, and he was talking about being connected to the player side of the Sixers organization, noting this:

“A few weeks ago, because I’m decently tapped in with the players’ side of what’s happening with the Sixers, though I don’t know anybody in the Morey administration,  I’m hearing like, ‘Man, guys are not feeling Doc. His rotations, his philosophy, what he’s doing, guys aren’t feeling it.’ To me, sometimes you can chalk it up to be like, ‘I should be playing more.’ That’s every NBA player. So I’m like, I’m ignoring this. I’m ignoring this… The Sixers are in L.A. last week, I’m out and about getting dinner… and I run into somebody who’s close to the team. I’m like, ‘Sorry but I can’t pick you guys to go to the Finals this year.’ His response kind of raised my eyebrows: ‘Neither would I.’ Oh, okay. Maybe that’s hyperbole, maybe you’re having a bad week, I’m not even thinking about it. But this is a running tally of what’s going on down in Philadelphia.”

Now I gotta be honest, I had no clue who Wosny Lambre was, but a brief search reveals that he’s a blue checkmark with 45,000 followers. And you never doubt someone’s sources, fishy or not. All it takes is one plugged-in proxy to share good information, right? Our Eagles mystery source has been very right about a lot of things, and a lot of people poo-poo’d Joe Santoliquito’s Carson Wentz epic, only for Carson to be traded twice in two years.

But if the Sixers are getting annoyed with Doc, then get in line. Take a number. The fan base seems to be out on Doc as well. I can’t find a Doc supporter in this fan base, can you? People loved the hire because he wasn’t Brett Brown, but now you get the sense that it was a lateral move at best, a move for a guy who admitted he was going to take a break before this job opened up.

-125 odds on Sam Cassel taking over if these guys go out again in the second round.
