Update those Twitter bios because if you’re not #Philly6for6 you might as well move across the bridge. The Philadelphia Phoenix are the next great professional team in this city. I’m not liable for any grief if they break your heart, because you should know that comes with being raised in this city:
Hand up. I knew there was going to be a lot of running, but I had no idea it was going to be this much running. This is a sport for sickos and guys who don’t sit and blog for a full time job.
Honestly though, these dudes are some interesting characters. A lot of screws loose. But good guys. They work insanely hard for little recognition so give them some. Their home opener is tomorrow, Friday at 7 p.m. at the South Philadelphia site (1000 Bigler Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148). Their goal is to get 1,000 fans there so lets make it happen (I won’t be there because I’m in Charleston at a bachelor party. Sue me.) Here’s a schedule for the rest of the year and a link to buy tickets:
We are one month away from our home opener! We need each and every one of you to join us in South Philly as we take on the lads from Montreal! We want to pack the stadium and get 1000 fans for the game. Are you with us? https://t.co/Y1QC6RPRrq #HotBirds #Marchto1000 pic.twitter.com/4G27ERrt5g
