Is the WWE Attitude Era back? Tonight, Vince McMahon is going to address on SmackDown, IN CHARACTER, the accusation that he paid a former WWE employee $3 million to not go public about their alleged affair:

From Mike Calia and Alex Sherman at CNBC:

World Wrestling Entertainment Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon is stepping back from his duties as the company’s board investigates alleged misconduct by the executive, but he will remain a main creative force behind WWE’s content, the company announced Friday.

Hours after the announcement, the WWE tweeted that McMahon would appear live on the company’s “Smackdown” show Friday night on Fox. He will address the controversy, but do so in character as his traditionally ruthless “Mr. McMahon” role, according to a person familiar with the matter who declined to be named.

WWE writers were working Friday to change the script for “Smackdown,” which had been completed earlier this week, the person added.
Vince McMahon walking to the ring to address the misconduct:
I might tune into Smackdown for the first time since I was 14. You can say whatever you want about Vince McMahon, and it’s probably all true, but you can’t ever say this guy doesn’t know how to put on a show. At Vince McMahon’s funeral, he will find a way to make content out of it for the WWE. I wouldn’t be surprised if Stone Cold crashed the burial, tied a chain to his casket, and dragged Vince’s body through the cemetery with his F-250. You know why? Because Vince already concocted this exact storyline:

Also let me get this straight about this whole probe –

A billionaire had a consensual relationship with a former employee and didn’t want her to go to TMZ so he paid her $3 million to keep quiet? Water is wet, too. This is some behind-the-scenes Succession type shit from someone on the board who wants Vince gone. I love it. You think Vince wants to be CEO? Hell no. Let him focus on content. He doesn’t want to sit in meetings with finance nerds about pyro budget and EBITDA. He rather find out how high of a fall the human body can sustain from a steel cage. He’s got PPVs to sell.
