As you know by now, training camp is dead. Long live training camp!

Instead of getting multiple days of free access to the Eagles, summer now provides one opportunity to see the Birds with a $10 ticket that goes towards the Autism Foundation:

I think it’s time we put a self-imposed moratorium on bitching about training camp. There’s really not much else to say. This new setup sucks for fans. West Chester and Lehigh were rites of passage, where you went to see the Eagles up close and personal. You did the pilgrimage, right? You drove out there, watched the players do their thing, and then maybe your kid got an autograph or Jeremiah Trotter threw him a sweaty wristband. Now you’ve got a fan for life.

This setup is better for the players because they can live at home, they don’t have to sleep in college dorms, they have access to the NovaCare facilities and whatnot. It is what it is, and it makes a lot of sense, though it just kind of makes you feel a little more detached from the team.
