Eight Years Ago, Ed Rendell Delivered the Worst NBA Draft Take of All Time

Its hard to strike out worse than the Gov did here:

It baffles me that we used to just accept Ed Rendell being a part of Eagles postgame. Especially when he’s next to one of the greatest football minds of all time. Michael Barkann would throw it to the Gov after a loss and it was like visiting your pop pop at the nursing home. “The Eagles are soft, this country is soft.” Only because guys didn’t have blood leaking out of their ears any longer on the concrete Vet turf.

Remember when he said we were losing to China because the NFL moved the Eagles game from Monday to Tuesday because of snow? –

“We’ve become a nation of wusses. The Chinese are kicking our butt in everything,” he added. “If this was in China do you think the Chinese would have called off the game? People would have been marching down to the stadium, they would have walked and they would have been doing calculus on the way down.”

I will concede “doing calculus on the way down” is a hilarious line. Then you realize at one point there were Eagles fans who hung on every word of a guy who fought this hard for a McRib:
