Here’s a doozy of a story from Elite Sports New York:

A WFAN caller alleged Thursday he almost threw down with the Eagles head coach while playing tennis at Centennial Park in Haddonfield, New Jersey. Peter from Maple Shade regaled morning show hosts Boomer Esiason and Gregg Giannotti with the tale, saying Sirianni got upset because Peter — a Bronx native — was wearing a Giants cap.

Peter says he was playing on the court adjacent to Sirianni and his wife when the kerfuffle occurred.

“He goes, ‘Hey, I have a problem with what you are wearing,'” the caller said. “And I go, ‘Listen bro, if you have a problem you come over here and do something about it.'”

Hilarious. The thought of Nick Sirianni trying to fight some random guy at a tennis court makes me laugh. Maybe he is indeed Philly tough. He’s pandering so hard to the city that he’s trying to beat up random New York fans wherever he can find them.

It’s radio though, so you never know. Maybe the guy is totally making shit up, or he’s confused, or just had the wrong guy. Mistaken identity? Maybe it wasn’t Sirianni at all but just some random joe schmoe.

What we definitely need is one of the 75 Eagles media members to ask Nick about it when camp begins, like “Hey Nick, did you threaten to beat someone’s ass in Haddonfield back in June?

Here’s the audio:

Gio: “I dated a lesbian from Haddonfield in college.”

Peter from Maple Shade: “oh my God”

Gio: “True story.”

Amazing. Now I’m more interested in the Haddonfield lesbian story.

Good morning.
