Bottom of the ninth, two down, two on, and one strike away from another lost series to the bleeping Miami Marlins.

Garrett Stubbs wasn’t having it.

With one of the Phillies’ most important swings of the season to date, he turned around a belt-high slider and sent it 385 feet into the right field seats to steal both a win and a series victory, while completely altering the feel of what had been a mostly frustrating 21 hours at Citizens Bank Park.

First, the call. I think it may be Tom McCarthy’s best. He crushed it.

“Did he do it? Did he do it? He did it!”

Any big Phillies moment also deserves the Scott Franzke treatment, via Nick Piccone:

The epic swing also inspired an epic celebration.

Behold the still pause, self-admiration, and forceful bat spike, one that was both aggressive and violent:

His teammates were pumped up, too:

Hell of a moment for Stubbs and the Phillies. They’re back over .500 and now head to Washington for five games against a dreadful Nationals team.
