Mike Missanelli Talks Fanatic Departure and Other Things on Kevin Cooney and Mike Kern's Podcast
This post is dedicated to the guy who thinks I’m in love with Mike Missanelli. He says I kiss his ass all the time, which is strange, since most people think the exact opposite is true.
Anyway, Mike went on Kevin Cooney and Mike Kern’s podcast, Working the Beat, to talk about his departure, and other things, with the most relevant portion beginning at 8:00 here:
Mike – “Listen, corporations act in mysterious ways, and it’s an era of cost cutting. That show was still pretty good, so, whatever. We decided to go in different directions. We weren’t really on the same page. Good luck to them.”
Missanelli went on to say that there were discussions about a consultant role, but he’s open to going in a completely different direction instead, like getting back into law, or doing the winery thing. He also “likes the idea of doing nothing” and suggested a podcast could come down the road, though he is mulling over a few offers.
Good podcast. He spoke about the changes in the radio business, the new JAKIB Media Eagles postgame show, etc. One of these days they gotta get me on Working on the Beat because I’ve got stories to tell. I’ve seen some shit.
