Back in April, we had to call a violation on recurring 97.5 the Fanatic guest Vicente from Lansdowne (hola Mike!) because he mentioned on the air that Bernie from Broomall was dead.

That turned out to be NOT TRUE. Bernie was still alive and well, according to Tyrone Johnson. We had confirmation that Bernie was sick, but he did still call the station, even if it was less frequent than normal.

Fast forward to this past Friday, and he graced the airwaves with his presence:

lol

I love how Bernie pivots from confirming that he is still alive, to asking about the Birds:

Tyrone: It’s good to hear from you. How are you feeling?

Bernie: Okay! I’m alive. That’s all that counts for me.

Tyrone: There you go. There you go. You’ve got the right idea. So many people obviously exaggerating your demise. You’re still with us, and that’s great to hear –

Bernie: How are the Eagles doing?

Fantastic. It’s great to hear Bernie Taraschi’s voice again. When we ranked our top ten best and worst sports radio callers, he came in #4 overall on the “best” list. Vicente was #5, Jose from Norristown (what up?) was number 3, Dwayne from Swedesboro was #2, and Linda from Mayfair was #1.
