We’ve all been duped before, and former Eagles Pro Bowler Seth Joyner can now join the club after tweeting this out at 12:12 a.m. on Wednesday morning:

This is a meme/photoshop job being passed around by climate change skeptics, which seems to show two TIME Magazine covers that contradict each other, published 31 years apart. However, the image on the left is fake, and TIME has twice confirmed this, writing most recently in 2019:

Ads, jokes and protests are one thing, though — hoax covers are something else entirely. And that’s the problem with a faked TIME cover about global warming that’s been floating around the Internet for some time.

Apparently the hoax cover has been floating around the Internet for at least a few years. I’m not sure who created it, and it doesn’t seem to have gotten a whole lot of traction, even among climate-science deniers. Though kudos to whoever initially put the fake cover together. That’s some pretty good photoshopping.

Here’s the real cover, which dates back to 2007 and not 1977:

So what happened here is that Joyner fell for the play fake. He hit the A Gap to tackle the ball carrier, but the QB pulled it and threw the slant. A little RPO action right here. The running back in this case was a photoshopped TIME Magazine cover.

The bigger issue would be Joyner seeming to shrug off the responses to the tweet:
