Here’s a shot of the Mark Canha home run that put the Mets up in the 9th inning. A sea of blue and orange erupts. Was this Citi Field or CBP? –

The two biggest farces in Philadelphia are “No one likes us, we don’t care,” and Philly “has the best fans in the world.”

First, nobody cares more about what people think of them than we do. That’s why we’re going on two weeks of talking about Keith Hernandez. Two, you can’t measure fandom. It’s intangible. Let me tell you, there are as just as many idiots in this fanbase as there are smart and reasonable fans that can talk sports. I should have a doctorate, I’ve done so much research on this.

I’m not even annoyed about Mets fans dominating CBP Saturday afternoon. It was a rain-out from earlier in the season. People’s schedules in May are a lot different than they are in August, and Phillies fans made up for it Saturday night. But man, if you were keeping score at home, we got dominated in our own stadium all weekend on and off the field:

It’s funny, because we used to make fun of the Nationals for this same exact thing. So when it happens to us it’s only fair to call it out.

Say what you want about why people don’t go to the ballpark. Maybe it’s the price, maybe people still don’t believe in this team, or maybe baseball doesn’t move the needle in Philadelphia anymore. But a year ago, a worse Phillies team was playing and fans showed up, Zack Wheeler shoved, and the 7Line Army fought each other:

We’ll see what the ballpark looks like in September during a playoff run. Everyone is saying “wait until people are back from the shore.” Jesus Christ, the 2007 versions of ourselves would want to kick our own asses.
