Tyrone Johnson was on Preston & Steve Friday morning and they asked him to follow up their take about wanting the Eagles to put a dome on Lincoln Financial Field. This was a response to fan response and our response, and they mentioned the article I wrote about it being a “Rare L” for the show.

Here’s the audio:

I’m going to do something I don’t do often. I’m going to concede my point from yesterday as long as Jeffrey Lurie builds his next stadium with a retractable roof. I’m all in on retractable roofs. Tyrone is 100% right. There should never be another rain delay in baseball ever again. Imagine the strategy that would go into the roof during the playoffs.

There’s no reason why the Eagles shouldn’t maximize their stadium 365 days a year. It would give the Birds an opportunity to host a Super Bowl, conventions, and concerts all year around, the Final Four, NBA All Star games etc. I love the Snow Bowl game. I also understand if that game goes the other way we don’t have fond memories of any “weather” game in the last 20 years. Someone reading this is definitely screaming, “But what about the elements?Relax Governor Rendell, we already lost to China years ago. The cold-weather advantage died for me in 2002 when the Bucs were 0-20 all time in games under 40° and they whooped up on the Birds. Sure, I’ll miss them. Until I remember I can have a beer and hotdog while being able to feel my hands in a temperature-controlled 72° stadium that’s louder than the Linc ever was.
