Flyers Cut Cam York Two Weeks After Torts Says "I'm Gonna Play the Kids"
Here’s a shocker. The Flyers sent Cam York to Lehigh Valley after whittling the roster to 34:
Flyers have cut Cam York. Don’t agree with that at all.
Along with York, Tyson Foerster, Olle Lycksell, Adam Ginning, Adam Karashik, Pat Nagle, Adam Brooks, Max Willman, Louis Belpedio and J.R. Avon have also been cut.
Brooks, Willman and Belpedio must clear waivers.

Torts gave his reasoning here:
John Tortorella says it isn’t bad they cut Cam York
“This is the right thing to do”
John says it’s the mental skills. John says he hasn’t seen it yet
“Him learning to be the guy”
John says he will play a ton of minutes down there pic.twitter.com/K6Aj2EZRt4

Gotta love the honesty from coach, but the Flyers are going to suck. Don’t you want him to learn to be the guy and take on adversity while you’re at the bottom of the East? What’s one of your best defensive prospects going to do in Lehigh? Why not play him? Now with the presumed defensive pairing of Justin Braun and Nick Seeler, you have a 35 year old and 29 year old on the third line. Two weeks after Torts said he was going to ‘play the kids’ to build some foundation:
Tortorella: "I'm gonna play the kids."
"We need to get a foundation going here. We need to get it back on the rails."

Here’s Russ Joy, a guy who can’t throw a baseball 90 feet, with more on the move:
Cam York being sent down to the Phantoms is an incredibly short-sighted move, according to @JoyOnBroad. #Flyers pic.twitter.com/46PHo2U0Gr
