I laughed at this. Just two guys busting each other’s stones I think. No harm, no foul.


But Passan is a professional journalist or whatever, so he can’t tweet things like this. You can’t suggest that other people are sucking off players, so he’s forced to apologize. Verlander, meantime, is Justin Verlander’s younger brother, but you probably already knew that. Some people like him and some people don’t because they think he just rides coattails and used his brother’s success to launch his own fanboy/media career. I don’t know if that’s fair or not, but that’s basically the gist. He himself was a pro baseball player, and spent a few years in the Tigers organization, but did not break into the Majors, so it’s not like he’s some scrub. He did make it pretty far on his own, but obviously his big bro is headed to the Hall of Fame, so the comparison is not even fair.
