Ben Simmons returns to Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night to play a Sixers team missing Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and James Harden.

Apparently he’s cool now with Howard Eskin:

This shit makes me laugh because nobody ripped Ben Simmons harder and more unfairly than Howard Eskin. Just last November, Howard was reporting that Simmons was going broke and had “serious cash flow issues.” Same Eskin who was heard on camera totally trashing Simmons at an Eagles practice. Same Eskin who went on WIP, JAKIB, Twitter, any platform he could find to call the guy a fraud and criticize, while most non-charlatan media members were attempting to be fair to Ben and highlight both his positive contributions in addition to the negatives.

I guess all of that went away the moment Simmons expressed condolences when Howard’s dog died:

It was nice of Ben to say that, because he didn’t have to say anything at all, not to a guy who spent five full years destroying him at every opportunity. Remember, it’s not about being right or wrong, it’s about being fair, and Howard hasn’t practiced objectivity with the Sixers front office or any of their players in more than a decade.

This is just further proof that a significant portion of the sports “media” is doing nothing more than performance art and grandstanding. Good photo op, though.
