No clue how we missed this story, but it comes from the Commanders/Vikings game of this past weekend.

Apparently a drunk Communist fan was messing with the guys in the Minnesota radio booth, so they had to get security involved, but instead the heavy muscle showed up. This is from Barrett Sports Media, citing an interview on KFAN radio in Minneapolis:

(Paul) Allen said normally they would try to tune out heckling fans and maybe attempt to banter back and forth with them during breaks, but when the fan tried reaching into the broadcast booth and touching his computer and flicking bits of food at him, Allen said he lost his cool.

After Allen and (Chris) Hawkey both restrained one another from leaving the booth to go confront the fan, another member of the booth crew went looking for security. Instead of stadium security though, Allen and Hawkey both said members of a SWAT team entered to try and get to the bottom of the situation.

“These three giant badasses with M-16’s or whatever kind of guns they had come into our booth and I bump into them – and I turn around and see who it is and I look over and now PA’s leaning out of the booth screaming at the guy,” Hawkey said.

There HAS to be video of this somewhere. Please spread the word. We must have video of the SWAT team coming for the drunk Commie fan. Why were there dudes with guns there anyway? It’s not like the Commanders have some huge fan base to begin with. You could police the entire stadium with Paul Blart.
