Here's the Context Behind the Fugazi Tom Brady and Jalen Hurts Video Clip
There are bits and pieces of Tom Brady’s midweek press conference floating around on social media. Zero context, of course, with a reporter reading off Jalen Hurts stats and then Brady nodding along, seemingly unimpressed.
Two tweets here, first, the truncated portion of the exchange, then Rob Maaddi following up with Brady’s answer, which helps to clear things up:
Tom Brady does not give a shit about Jalen Hurts’ stats and Jalen Hurts does not want to see Brady in the playoffs pic.twitter.com/RvSX6Li2FK

Tom Brady likes the way the #Eagles run QB sneaks and has a lot of praise for Jalen Hurts. pic.twitter.com/VpTv5zAcCm

“Wow. Sick data.”
Most people just saw the first clip and not the second clip, which are separated by more than a million views. Modern “journalism” at its best!
I’m not sure why this woman was asking about Hurts and QB sneaks in the first place, so I went back to the Bucs website and found the entire thing uploaded there. Here’s how the front-end of the question was phrased:
“You’ve been so successful during your career with the QB sneak, and obviously on Sunday you had another one. I just wanted to ask if you’ve been paying attention at all to what Jalen Hurts has been doing in Philadelphia with the QB sneak… (fill it in with the video clip above)…
It was the last question of the press conference and the delivery was weird, but there’s a reasonable question buried in there somewhere. Not the most amazing query of all time, but yeah.
Anyway, the point is that Brady was not shitting on Hurts. He was very respectful of rugby scrum middle/double cheek push.
