Retiring Jim Gardner Got a Shout Out on the House Floor
Jim Gardner is retiring this month, and there’s been a variety of events honoring his bazillion years anchoring at Action News.
Among them, this shout out from local rep Madeleine Dean:
I couldn't find the @6abc van, so instead I went to the House floor to honor the legendary @Jim_Gardner.
Jim — Thank you for informing and guiding our communities with honesty, integrity, and generosity for so many years.💙 pic.twitter.com/vGMQvfIbno

Quick aside –
What is it with politicians and the easel? Do they not have a tech guy down there? Did they sign a Bobby Bonilla-length contract with Kinkos to print out floor charts? Not sure why I find this so funny. It’s the year 2022 and we’ve got Senators and Congressmen/women/people printing out cardboard squares like they’re a college football coach trying to disguise play calls on the sideline:

Action News honored Gardner on Thursday night, which was cool. This video is worth the watch, you just gotta get through the pre-roll ads:
Good shit. We gotta get Jim on Crossing Broadcast.
