The Best Video Clip of the Week is an Iowa Sports Anchor Doing Weather Coverage
Hilarious right here:

This is really amazing on a variety of fronts. It just shows the absurdity of the news business in 2022, which has not evolved at all. Stagnation works if you’re Action News, but when you’re in bumblefuck Iowa and standing outside telling people that it’s snowing at eight-minute intervals (no duh, it’s the midwest), then what is the actual value in the broadcast? There is none. It’s devolved into fringe entertainment and that’s about it. We get video clips like this one, and Steve Keeley almost getting run over by a snow plow.
Just out of curiosity here, I went to the station website to see what kind of sports they cover in Waterloo, which is north of Cedar Rapids. It’s local high school stuff in addition to the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones. They appear to be the same exact distance from Minneapolis, Chicago, and Milwaukee, so I think Iowa gets a mix of Vikings, Packers, and Bears fans, but I am not entirely sure. We need an IOWAN to check in.
