With Serbia Eliminated from World Cup, Eagles Twitter Hashtag Must be Returned to Philadelphia

You follow a lot of Eagles people on Twitter? One of the funny things currently taking place is that every use of the #Eagles hashtag shows a Serbian flag next to it. That’s because Serbia’s World Cup team is nicknamed “The Eagles,” so while the Birds are racking up wins, every use of the tag shows up like this:
This makes me laugh. Not sure why. Probably because Philadelphia football is the furthest thing from Serbian soccer. I’m pretty sure nobody in the Delaware Valley can point to Serbia on map, and nobody in Belgrade knows who Jalen Hurts is.
Serbia crashed out in the group stage, but it seems like they are letting these tags roll through the completion of the World Cup, so every time the beats tweet #Eagles, you’re gonna see the Serbian flag.
If Eagles played for the Serbian national team:
- Jalen Hurtsović
- Linval Josip
- Britain Cović
- Ndamukong Šuh
- Darius Slavic
- C.J. Gardner-Johnsinović
This was kind of a dumbass post.
