This is a significant loss for local Phillies coverage. Salisbury had fantastic Phillies sources and was one of those quality, old school reporters. Always at the forefront of baseball news and very well respected in the market. He started here in 1996 I believe, with The Philadelphia Inquirer, and then transitioned over to NBC Sports Philadelphia to become their baseball insider.
Ask anybody over there and they’ll tell you how respected Salisbury is. These kinds of guys don’t come around very often, and there aren’t many left in the market.
