Temple University (a Basketball School) Takes Down #1 Houston on the Road as 20 Point Dogs!

via @Fanduel on Twitter

If you would’ve asked any Temple fan coming into today if the 20 point spread was too high they’d say no. Don’t tell that to the most confusing team in Temple basketball history because they just went and did something the Phillies couldn’t and that’s beat Houston. This is the first Temple win against a #1 ranked team since Pepe Sanchez and Lynn Greer took down Kenyon Martin and Bob Huggins 20+ years ago:

What a last two possessions from Kur Jongkuch:

This Temple team is an enigma. They lose to Wagner and Maryland Eastern-Shore, but beat Houston and Rutgers. It makes zero sense. The entire season has been frustrating. A lot of fans had high expectations coming into it and it just hasn’t gone the way a lot of us had hoped. But shout out to these guys to go down and battle a week after Memphis broke their hearts on a last second shot in the Liacouras Center. That’s an awesome fucking win. A badly needed resume win. Now if Villanova could get their heads out of their asses and start beating some teams that aren’t Georgetown, that win early in the season could go from Quad-4 to maybe Quad-2.

Baby steps:

T for Temple Uuuuuu! Uuuuuuuniversityyyyyy! Fight fight fight! For the Cherry and the White! For the Cherry and the white! Fight Fight Fight!
