Larry Bowa Having a Catch With Dad of Phillies Prospect Who Passed Away from Cancer is a Great Moment
Sorry to make you cry at your desk on a Monday, but this was too awesome not to share. Chris Phelan, father of Phillies prospect Corey, who unfortunately lost his battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in October, had a catch with Larry Bowa on Saturday:
Chris Phelan, father of the late Corey Phelan, played catch with Larry Bowa on the field before today’s game
Phelan passed away last year after a battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
Bowa always told Corey that he wanted to play catch with him on this field someday: pic.twitter.com/VENUZyP9hQ

Amazing. I don’t know how this hasn’t gone mega-viral.
Great perspective for a Monday as you’re probably swamped with a million things and drowning from it all. We get caught up in this rat race that we forget to appreciate life until it’s too late. Carve out some time to have a catch with your pops or kid this week. Fuck cancer.
P.S. It’s “have a catch” not “play catch.” I will not budge on this.
