Remember the Montco guy who was arrested for stealing prime rib and cheesecake from a diner, then breaking into Adult World?

It happens to the best of us.

At North Penn Now, Keith Heffintrayer writes that Robert Dugan worked a plea deal:

As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, Robert Dugan, 38, pleaded guilty on March 13 to two felony counts of criminal trespassing and was sentenced to four years’ probation on each count, with both sentences running concurrently. All other charges against Dugan were dropped in exchange for his plea, court records show.

Dugan was captured on surveillance at the American Star Diner on Welsh Road at 4:30 a.m. on March 31, 2022, where he broke the locking mechanism on the front door and forced his way inside, police said. Once inside, Dugan stole an entire cheesecake and half of a prime rib roast, then exited the diner through the broken front door.

Then, just after 6 a.m., a shirtless Dugan was captured on surveillance outside of Adult World on Dekalb Pike, where he was observed striking a message billboard with a bat, causing it to break, police said. Dugan then allegedly began striking windows of the business, before repeatedly striking the glass front door, causing it to shatter.

I’m not gonna pass judgment because we’ve all been there before. Sometimes it’s four in the morning and you break into a diner and steal some cheesecake and prime rib. Then you take a baseball bat to Adult World and go apeshit. It is what it is. You serve some probation and life goes on.

Seems like cooler heads prevailed here. If Twitter was deciding on punishment, this guy would be on the next flight to the Siberian gulag to do 40 years of hard labor.
