Uhhhhhhhhh no. You win, you get to go to the White House. You lose? You get nothing…

Jill Biden was in Denver Monday, speaking at the State Capitol, when she mentioned this via the Associated Press:

“I know we’ll have the champions come to the White House; we always do. So, we hope LSU will come,” she said. “But, you know, I’m going to tell Joe I think Iowa should come too, because they played such a good game.”

Embarrassing. Great season from the Hawkeyes, but you lost. You get the banquet at the VFW that’s it. You hand out awards, the seniors make their speeches, and you eat mediocre food waiting for it to be over. We’re not here to broker peace in women’s basketball. The game wasn’t even close.

Could you imagine Joe asking the Eagles or Phillies to the Oval Office? Jalen Hurts doesn’t want a participation trophy. Bryce Harper would tell the cabinet to kick rocks. Is Bryce just going to sit there while Joe fawns over Jose Altuve and Jeremy Pena while the trophy that he wants more than anything sits 10 feet away? He’d puke. Athletes want to be in the Oval Office because they earned it. You lose the big one and you dust yourself off and use that as motivation to get back. The winning teams deserve all of the attention on themselves.
