John Clark also confirmed it:
Source confirms Joel Embiid has a sprained LCL. He may have to wear a brace for the knee when he returns. There is some hope that he can play towards the beginning of the Sixers second round series but he will be playing through a knee injury@ramonashelburne was first pic.twitter.com/JxirjN0vjA

To the Google! “How to treat a LCL injury” via UMPC.com:
If you have a Grade I or Grade II MCL or LCL knee sprain, your doctor will likely prescribe the following treatments:
-
- The R.I.C.E. method (rest, ice, compression, elevation).
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen, for pain.
- A knee brace for a short time.
Nothing a good R.I.C.E method and some Advil can’t solve! Embiid has played with a knee brace before during the 2021 regular season and didn’t show signs of slowing down. Ramona also mentioned he will be reevaluated mid-week. Shams reported there is optimism he’ll play in Game 1:
“There is optimism that he’ll be able to play in Game 1 of their next series… He had a sprained knee and I think they believed this is about a 1 week injury”@ShamsCharania with the latest on Joel Embiid’s injury #RunItBack #BrotherlyLove pic.twitter.com/MfdRDrBa6l
