Missed this on Friday but it’s still worth a post on Monday.

The truck driver who was killed in the I-95 accident left behind a daughter, who is getting some help from the local sports teams:

See, now there’s a great gesture. There was so much grandiosity in the reopening of I-95, and a lot of meme-able moments and ready-made jokes (from us and plenty of others), that we probably all forgot that someone died in the incident. So the sports teams stepped up to help out Moody’s daughter and try to make things right.

In addition to the Phils, Flyers, Eagles, Sixers, and Union getting involved, there is also a GoFundMe account pushing $41,000.

Here’s the blurb:

Nathan “Nate” Moody tragically and suddenly lost his life as the truck driver in the I-95 accident and collapse.

Nate was a father of three, a veteran, and a hardworking devoted family man who leaves behind many people who loved him — including a 7-year-old daughter who adored playing with her dad after school.

As his neighbors and fellow Merchantville community members, we’re raising funds to support Nate’s family as they process and cope with this unimaginable loss.

Please give whatever you can — a donation, a reshare, kind words or a prayer — to help provide some stability and support to the family in the months to come. Thank you in advance for all of your support and donations, it is truly appreciated!

The fundraiser was started by a neighbor on behalf of the family, with all proceeds going towards Moody’s partner, Theresa.
