The Canes lucked out here as he would’ve been a $2.5 million cap hit if they agreed to a trade with the Flyers. Instead they’ll save almost a million dollars this year.
You can’t fault Danny Briere for this one as he’s still trying to get out from under the mistakes made by the former regime.
