This isn’t as good as the time Gardner Minshew shoved his dad after beating the Jets at MetLife, but we appreciate a good Minshew Mania celebration:

Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon are a combined 3-3 this season. Exceeding expectations. Steichen has had Anthony Richardson for not even two full games and yet the Colts lead the AFC South with a 2-1 record. Gannon has Josh Dobbs and a combination of rookies, journeymen, and castoffs, and just knocked off the Cowboys. Cardinals should be 2-1 easily, but both teams are overachieving.

I went and tallied it up and Steichen and Gannon have seven former Eagles who saw the field in Arizona and Baltimore on Sunday. They are:

  • Minshew: 27/44, 227 yards, one touchdown, 82.3 QB rating (2-0 on the season now)
  • Trey Sermon: five carries for 17 yards, one catch for four yards
  • Kyzir White: game-high 14 tackles, red zone interception
  • K’Von Wallace: seven tackles, one PBU
  • Andre Chachere: two tackles
  • Zach Ertz: two catches for six yards
  • Zach Pascal: a special teams tackle

Nothing that’s sending these guys to the Pro Bowl, but all of the former Eagles that followed the coordinators to their new jobs are at least contributing. Ertz doesn’t fit that category, but he’s still getting plenty of snaps out in AZ and Josh Sills also found his way to Indy. Nick Rallis and JIM BOB COOTER also landed gigs under Gannon and Steichen, respectively.

Do we wish any of these guys were still Eagles? Maybe Steichen. Yeah, definitely Steichen, though the jury is still out on Brian Johnson. It’s way too early to make a judgment call there. I wouldn’t mind Kyzir White in the fold, or Wallace/Chachere on special teams. No biggie though. Nice to see these guys win.
