It’s a shit show down in South Philly on Tuesday night. Lisa Fairfax is working overtime on the 2’s. Between the Flyers game, Mexico vs. Germany friendly, and Game 2 of the NLCS, the lots are full and the cops had to close the ramps to the sports complex on 95:

People with tickets were stuck in traffic outside the stadium.

This was the traffic nine minutes before the first pitch:

Not even Mexico and Germany were able to get to the game on time so they had to push back the start:

There’s so much traffic people were stuck at the airport:

Of course immediately people are going to be say, “You should’ve left early.” Sure. But people have jobs they can’t leave early, maybe they need to get kids off the bus, or pick up a family member back home who can’t drive. If that’s not you and you’re stuck in traffic I don’t feel bad for you. Like this guy:

6:45? This guy might be the dumbest human on the face of the planet. I could live on Oregon Ave. and I’d leave before 6:45.

I get people have lives. Though I think you can argue that when 125,000 people are descending on a place at one time you should have a plan to give you enough time or sell the tickets. Like if I was in the suburbs and I couldn’t leave my house by 5 p.m. at the latest I’m selling those tickets and using that money to grab some at a later date.

Really all I want to know is who the hell was in charge of scheduling Mexico/Germany in the middle of October. I understand the Phillies being in the NLCS wasn’t a given, but that’s beside the point. There’s soccer tonight, Temple football on Friday, and an Eagles game on Sunday all at the Linc. That field is going to look so dead Nick Castellanos is going to home run after it flat lines. Unless the Eagles grounds crew is trying to slow down the Dolphins offense, then I say ches,s not checkers.
