Eagles Brought Coffee to the "Run the Ball" Guys, who Seemed to Annoy the Beat Writers
Morning Joe for a couple of Joes:
Nick Sirianni says they gave coffee to the fan who brought the “run the ball” sign to the NovaCare Complex this morning: “I love our fans, I love their passion.” pic.twitter.com/c6HOI2FCJm

“We do need to continue to try to run the ball.”
This idea seemed to really annoy the Eagles beat writers, who all responded with some sort of dissenting tweet. The Birds ran it nine times on Sunday and couldn’t pick up more than four yards. They stunk on the ground and more or less abandoned the running game. But this is just two fans holding a sign outside of NovaCare, so it’s not a big deal. It’s not like they stormed the United States Capitol waving a flag and wearing a shamanic headdress.
Regardless, here’s a sampling:
Here are those 9 Eagles RB runs on Sunday, btw. Zero were successful based on the down and distance. If the sign said “Run the ball better,” or “Run the ball because we love punts,” then sure. https://t.co/CxamZ4Zza7 pic.twitter.com/G8bst5qqi9

Daron Bland has allowed 279 receiving yards in the last two games — the most in a two-game stretch in the #NFL this season.
Naturally, the #Eagles should run the ball Sunday…

#Eagles drove the ball into the red zone on their first two possessions. The offensive issues have little to do with the archaic “run the ball” argument.
“Fix the run” is a better one to make. While it’s still productive, it’s not as high powered because:

Building on this — I’m not suggesting they shouldn’t run. I’m saying the Eagles don’t need to run the ball more. They’re No. 5 in the NFL in the rushes per offensive play.
There are plenty of reasons they lost on Sunday. Volume of rushes wasn’t high on the list to me. https://t.co/jQhWR58jUk
