Some fans and media think Nick Sirianni stinks.

But the players don’t, according to NFL team report cards that the Players Association released Wednesday.

In a survey of 1,706 active players, the Eagles graded out this way:

  • treatment of families: C
  • food/cafeteria: A
  • nutritionist/dietician: B
  • locker room: B-
  • training room: B+
  • training staff: A-
  • weight room: A-
  • strength coaches: A-
  • team travel: C
  • head coach: A
  • owner: A

The Eagles were top 15 in every category except for treatment of families (16th), locker room (16th), and team travel (19th). But they had high marks across the board and Nick Sirianni and Jeffrey Lurie both got A grades.

The overview for the Birds reads as follows:

The Philadelphia Eagles finish the year ranked 4th overall in the team survey report. Survey respondents consistently grade the staff highly. The strength coaches, training staff and head coach Nick Sirianni all receive extremely high grades from the players.

The players also have a lot of faith in club owner Jeffrey Lurie’s willingness to continually upgrade the facilities. Last year, the survey highlighted that the Eagles had some of the smallest hot/cold tubs in the league and this offseason, the team upgraded their tub room, which the players appreciated.

The players mention two priority areas that they would like to see upgraded as soon as possible. First is the team’s travel setup. Players feel crammed in the back of the plane while the staff sits in first class. The second issue players mention is the need for a renovated locker room, which feels outdated.

Fair gripes. We’ve heard about the travel accommodations before, and the locker room is indeed a little old. But the rest of that speaks to Lurie and emotional intelligence and the fact that the guys runs a solid franchise. These players have what they need to be competitive and they feel like ownership and the coaching staff puts in the time and effort in that regard.

On Sirianni specifically, this is written in the head coach section:

  • 100% of players feel that head coach Nick Sirianni is efficient with their time (1st overall)
  • The players feel that Nick Sirianni is very willing to listen to the locker room (7th overall)

Looking at some other teams on the list, the Commanders got two F grades and three F- grades. Treatment of families, travel, locker room, training room – all shit. But Josh Harris got a B. Chiefs ownership got an F- while the Cowboys and Giants both graded out respectably.

IN 2023, THE NFLPA WORKED WITH STATLER NAGLE AND RESEARCH EXPERTS AT ARTEMIS STRATEGY GROUP TO FURTHER ENHANCE THE SURVEY PROCESS AND PROVIDE THIRD-PARTY PERSPECTIVE.

THE SURVEY WAS ADMINISTERED FROM AUGUST 26 TO NOVEMBER 16, 2023. ARTEMIS STRATEGY GROUP CONDUCTED THE CENSUS SURVEY ONLINE AND PROVIDED ACCESS TO EVERY PLAYER ON A 2023 NFL ROSTER AT THE TIME OF THE SURVEY. A TOTAL OF 1,706 PLAYERS COMPLETED THE SURVEY THIS YEAR.

ANSWERS WERE COLLECTED ANONYMOUSLY, AND PLAYERS EVALUATED THEIR CURRENT WORKPLACE BASED ON THEIR CLUB EXPERIENCE. THE SURVEY INCLUDED BOTH CLOSED-ENDED AND OPTIONAL OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONS. GRADES ARE CALCULATED BASED ON PLAYER RESPONSES TO A SERIES OF SURVEY RATING QUESTIONS IN 11 CATEGORIES. EACH CATEGORY GRADE IS BASED PRIMARILY ON SCORES FROM SCALED RATING QUESTIONS. GRADES ALSO REFLECT ADDITIONAL DETAILS ABOUT WORKPLACE CONDITIONS, SUCH AS THE QUALITY OF CLUB OFFERINGS. TEAMS ARE RANKED WITHIN EACH CATEGORY AND OVERALL ON THE BASIS OF THEIR SCORES. EACH TEAM’S OVERALL SCORE IS BASED ON A WEIGHTED COMBINATION OF GRADES FOR EACH OF THE 11 CATEGORIES.

THE OVERVIEW SECTION FOR EACH CLUB’S “REPORT CARD” AND COMMENTARY ACCOMPANYING EACH CATEGORY RANKING REFLECTS PLAYER RESPONDENTS’ OPINIONS ABOUT THE STATE OF EACH CLUB’S WORKPLACE. WE NOTE THAT THE INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM THIS SURVEY REFLECTS ONLY THE OPINIONS OF THE 2023 PLAYERS ON EACH CLUB ROSTER WHO COMPLETED THE SURVEY.
