Pete Rose checking in on the Shohei Ohtani and Ippei Mizuhara betting scandal. The Hit King wishes he had a translator when he bet on games back in the day:

So no one believes Shohei Ohtani is telling the truth, right? There’s no chance your best friend is stealing $4.5 million from you and nobody on your team recognizes it. It’s not like it was his accountant or banker in charge of his money that was siphoning it. We’re talking about an interpreter. Sure, it’s a guy he trusts that spends 365 days with him apparently. Still how does he have access to all of Shohei’s money? Also, the fact that Ippei went and told the media that Ohtani helped him pay off his betting debt, only to change his entire story completely the second time he was interviewed, is setting off alarm bells.

Something is fishy. It’s gotten so out of control that I’m starting to think this Ohtani guy actually knew English the entire time. He’s becoming my “Stevie Wonder can see” conspiracy. How else do you explain him nodding his head along during his new interpreter’s statement and knowing exactly the right time to start reading his again? Practice? –

He didn’t even skip a beat!

The MLB and the Dodgers are going to sweep this one under the rug and poor Ippei will be thefall guy. Chris Carter told us:

P.S. Something hilarious about Pete Rose spending all his autograph per diem slowly rotting into a sportsbook leather seat. Gambling was always his one true love. He’s going to die in some shitty Las Vegas sportsbook. Just a truly grimy individual.
