97.5 the Fanatic is teasing a “major programming announcement” at noon on Friday:

They’re going to announce the new lineup. What I’m hearing is Pat Egan to nights, Bob Cooney to middays, and Andrew Salciunas to mornings with John Kincade, so a shuffle there. The Best Show Ever, with Tyrone Johnson, Ricky Bo, and Jen Scordo, will remain intact. On the weekends, they will solidify the lineup and look to have consistency from week to week, which means having Bill Colarulo in his 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. slot, and Kevin Cooney and Dei Lynam co-anchoring noon to 3 p.m.

So who joins Bob Cooney on middays? Believe it or not, I’ve had two people tell me that none other than MIKE MISSANELLI is the guy. If true, it’s a STUNNER. Could it really happen? I never could have imagined Mike returning to the Fanatic after the way things fell apart in 2022, when he up and left on a random day in May. My thought was that he’d entertain a return only if there was a change in management, and while VP/Market Manager Joe Bell remains in place, Scott Masteller is the new Program Director and currently in charge of restructuring the lineup.

If I can get a third source on the Mike thing, I’ll update the story, but holy cow, could you imagine? It would be a RADIO WARS blockbuster! Like trading Jeff Carter and Mike Richards on the same day.
