The Cowboys Twitter Account Turned Off Replies Because They Were Sick of Fans Yelling at Them
The Cowboys Twitter account just wants free agency to be over. Today, they announced someone fans can finally get excited about and turned off the replies:
Things couldn’t be going worse in Dallas right now. The Cowboys have signed nobody after telling their fans they were going all in, Dak Prescott is being investigated for sexual assault while at the same time suing his accuser for extortion, his brother is tweeting that the Eagles have the best front office in the league, and now some intern is turning off the replies to free agency announcements because they’re sick of the fans.
Cowboys fans lost their shit! Taking away a Texan’s right to do something is the worst possible thing you could do:
Cowboys are pulling a page from the SMU social media playbook and turned off replies.
When did all of my teams become so soft? https://t.co/r1fkQWsIqJ

Turning off replies is the most Cowboys thing ever. Joke of a franchise. They sit around for 2 days to sign Eric fucking Kendricks???? https://t.co/YiW6UcIxtn

We finally sign someone and it’s so underwhelming that they have to restrict the comments. I hate it here. https://t.co/PSMZlUM4LI

I’m starting to think sports social media managers think they’re doing one of the hardest jobs in the world. Firefighter, Alaskan crab fisherman, social media manager. This is the first year where I’ve seen team accounts become self-aware about free agency:

Shut up and tweet. Send it and mute notifications. It’s not that hard.
But the plot thickens! They’ve now turned on replies after getting a bunch of shit from Cowboys fans:
Having the replies turned off, only to turn them back on hours later should tell you something about the state of the Dallas Cowboys.

So instead of people being mad they couldn’t reply the tweet now has twice the backlash. Have a backbone social admin! We could use more people trying to censor Cowboys fans.
