SB Nation Shuts Down Podcast Network
You might have seen some of these posts on Thursday:
Along with everyone else on the pod side of @BleedingGreen our contracts have ended.
We’re so grateful for the 5 seasons living out our dream – two female besties talking Birds.
Thank you to everyone who’s listened, supported, & cheered us on.

Well gang, I just got the tap on my shoulder. SB Nation is ending its team-branded podcasts. All of them that weren’t shut down last year, are now shut down.
That means no more Eye on the Enemy podcasts, at least for SB Nation. I’ll still be writing for BGN, tho.
Disappointing…

SB Nation shut down its podcast network, so everything that was connected to Bleeding Green Nation, Liberty Ballers, and The Good Phight is done. Broad Street Hockey and Brotherly Game are no longer affiliated with SB Nation.
Locally, an incomplete list of the shows no longer being supported includes:
- BGN Radio
- Babes on Broad
- On the Shane Page
- NFC East Mixtape
- Eye on the Enemy
- BGN Draft
- Above the Nest
- That’s Ball Folks
It seems like there’s an avenue here for these shows to continue independently. It’s just the SB Nation network that’s being shut down.
Brandon Lee Gowton, who runs the Bleeding Green website and hosts BGN Radio, wrote this on Twitter:

It always has since starting it up as a 21-year-old back in 2013. The longest running Philadelphia Eagles podcast. Can’t properly express how grateful I am for everyone who’s ever listened or interacted with the show. I really want to keep it going but it’s currently unclear to me what the future holds for the podcast feed. Lots of unanswered questions to sort through. Decisions are being made beyond my control. Hopefully more clarity to come. For now, I’m feeling really sad.
Vox Media owns SB Nation. They went through a round of layoffs last year and nuked a number of the hockey and soccer sites, some of which continued on their own, without Vox backing.
This is a good thread from Maestro to read:
SB Nation – the preeminent local sports blogging network owned by VOX Media – is shutting down its local sports podcasts.
If you didn’t see it yesterday @BrandonGowton and @JohnStolnis, along with a bunch of podcasters from around the country, announced the retirement of their…
