The Mets Are Doing a Dollar Dog Night
Now I’m not going to do, what everyone thinks I’m going to do, and freak out. All I want to know is who’s coming with me?

Bring your appetite and head to Citi Field on Tuesday, April 30 for Dollar Dog Night. Enjoy $1 hot dogs courtesy of Nathan’s. Limit of four (4) hot dogs per transaction.
Listen I’m not saying I had a hand in the Mets and Nathan’s coming together for this partnership, but I’m also not not saying they’re definitely doing this because I tipped them off to this promotion a month ago while looking for a hot dog donation for the tailgate:
I guess they can’t read on Coney Island cause I obviously said it was a charity event in my initial email. That reply was obviously code for “We just called the Mets with an amazing idea.” You’re welcome.
The Mets want to be the Phillies so bad. First they had the Francisco Lindor ovation from all 12 people at Citi Field last week:

Now they’re putting on a Dollar Dog Night for the first time ever. You know what? Hats off to the Mets. If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But are the Phils just going to sit by and let their biggest rival get one over on them? I think they were hoping people’s love for DDN would cease after a couple months in. That’s not the case. The people are making their voices heard. There were protests outside CBP last week:

There were protests in Clearwater:

There will continue to be gripes every time a BOGO Night is scheduled and the promotional schedule comes out before the season. Also a reader emailed us recently with a claim that the Phillies are using the smaller dogs for BOGO Night than the regularly sized dogs you can buy at other concession stands. I haven’t been to a game yet this year to see if if this is true. But if someone’s interested in a little scientific experiment I wouldn’t be opposed to hearing your findings.
