If you’ve been following the Jamie Apody saga, you know her Action News departure finally became official a little less than a month ago, marked by a “personal news” post on social media and a couple of canned quotes offering no explanation for why she disappeared entirely in the middle of the Eagles season.

She’ll be back on television Tuesday night, May 21st, appearing as a guest on Fox 29’s Phantastic Sports Show at 11:30 p.m. If you’re not familiar, it’s the show launched in the Fall and hosted by Breland Moore and Jason Martinez, a sports roundtable/discussion type of joint that comes on after the 11 p.m. news.

Here’s a sample clip with our guy Philly Captain:

Right, so if I’m Breland and Jason, my opener is this – “Hey Jamie, great to have you! We know the statements issued by Action News were total bullshit, so what actually happened?” A good icebreaker, yes? No need for a warm up, let’s just get right into it. Loyal Channel 6 viewers and two-bit bloggers remain unsatisfied.

What’s interesting is to see Apody on Fox 29 just a couple of weeks after formally leaving 6. Some people have asked me about non-competes, but I have no clue what was in her contract, or if there were specific terms written into some sort of settlement. That being said, it’s common for on-air television talent to have a clause limiting what they can do locally after leaving this type of job, like a restriction on working for a competitor within an X-mile radius (basically a market restriction).

At the same time, this won’t be a thing moving forward, because the Federal Trade Commission decided in April to ban non competes outright. The rule itself is not yet in effect, and becomes official on September 6th of this year, so it’s not technically in play here.

But yeah, Jamie Apody on Fox 29 Tuesday night, the Phantastic Sports Show. Will we learn anything new? The truth is still out there:
