Mike Missanelli Files Civil Complaint Against JAKIB Media Owner for $65,000 in Unpaid Compensation (UPDATED)
If you watched or listened to Mike Missanelli’s Wednesday show, you may have heard this interesting bit around the 11:20 a.m. mark:

“Bill was an unpaid contributor, and as it turns out, so was I!” He’s referring to his time with JAKIB Media, hosting the Eagles postgame show alongside Seth Joyner, Derrick Gunn, and others. Back in January, we published a story titled JAKIB Media Contributors Say They’re Regularly Paid Months Late, or Not at All, in which more than 10 sources explained that tens of thousands of dollars was owed to more than a half-dozen people. Joe Krause, who runs JAKIB, told Crossing Broad in a statement that “Upon completion of their contract deliverables, every talent is paid what they’re owed, without exception.”
Krause is a local media and sales veteran with prior stops at the Philadelphia Soul, Greater Media, and other organizations. He launched JAKIB’s digital sports platform in 2020.
Mike’s Wednesday comments warranted a search of the court system, to see if any legal action was taking place, and sure enough, there’s a civil complaint against Krause asking for $65,000 in unpaid compensation. The document is 15 pages long and alleges that:
- Mike was under contract for three payments amounting to $30,000, $35,000, and $35,000
- he only received $25,000 via a combination of certified check and direct deposit
- the unpaid balance of $65,000 goes back five months, to March of 2024*
Additionally, he and his lawyer are asking for 6% in statutory interest, costs, and attorney’s fees.
Attached as evidence is a copy of the contract, plus a series of text messages that were reportedly sent back and forth between Missanelli and Krause over several months:
Notable in there is the part about Seth Joyner getting paid. Based on what I’ve heard, that’s worth a separate post entirely. You also see the alleged text messages from May 31st talking about a HELOC and Krause asking why Missanelli is out to “destroy” him.
The only other thing in the system is a sheriff’s notice, but no JAKIB response at this time. Mike filed 12 days ago, August 9th, so there will be more added to the case in the coming weeks.
As far as JAKIB’s current status, Dan Sileo’s National Football Show continues to broadcast, and the Birds 365 show is being handled by John McMullen and Zander Krause, who is Joe Krause’s son. Jody McDonald left the show a few months ago, Bill Colarulo departed for 97.5 the Fanatic, and Rob Ellis and Tone DeShields’ Sports Take show was axed. Previous contributors include Derrick Gunn, Barrett Brooks, Eytan Shander, Harry Mayes, Devan Kaney, Marc Farzetta, Kayla Santiago, and Missanelli. There may be another attempt at an Eagles postgame show, but nothing official on that front yet.
*EDIT – some people pointed out that the dollar amounts don’t add up correctly. Mike was supposed to receive $100,000 (35+35+30), but only got $25,000, which would mean $75,000 is outstanding. Not totally sure what’s going on there, but on the first contract page there is $10k in addendums that look to be tied to playoff appearances:
EDIT 2: Here are some responses from Krause. I’m not aware of any litigation involving Rob Ellis, but it’s possible that there was a small claims filing that might be public record in Delco or Montco. I can look for that:
