Nick Foles Retiring a Philadelphia Eagle
Nick Foles officially calling it a career:
After much thought and prayer, I’ve decided to retire from the NFL. It’s been an incredible 11-year journey filled with unforgettable moments and amazing people. From being drafted by the Eagles to winning the Super Bowl, every step has been a blessing.

It’s only fitting. Nick retiring as an Eagle was up there in the “death and taxes” tier of sure bets. Guy won a Super Bowl here and played his best football in an Eagles uniform. They built a statue of him outside the stadium. You want Philly Philly? Yeah let’s do it.
Nick is 35 now. He went to Jacksonville in 2019 and got hurt and lost his job to Gardner Minshew. He played two seasons in Chicago, mostly third fiddle behind Justin Fields and Andy Dalton, but got nine games in 2020, then he backed up the Colts’ QBs in 2022 and now he’s done. He started 14 games in four seasons after leaving Philadelphia.
But who cares about any of that? Nick’s an Eagle. 2013 and 2017, that’s all that matters. First and only quarterback to deliver a Super Bowl to the city. Looking forward to the ceremony on 9/16.
