This was after the unnecessary hit that ultimately knocked Smith out of the game. He was moving sideways/backwards, wrapped up and going nowhere. If the whistles came a little earlier the hit probably doesn’t happen. But alas, he got clocked, his helmet knocked off, followed by the spitting.
