Phillies Want to Expand Ballpark Store by 3,500 Square Feet
The Phillies put in a request with the city to do a Citizens Bank Park expansion amounting to 7,000 square feet. 3,500 would be dedicated to enlarging the team store, and the rest would be concourse and suite level storage. In a letter to the art commission, they included the following renderings:
Yeah why not? Let’s do it. It’s so tight in there. If you go in before first pitch you can barely even move and the lines are 500 people deep. They’ve had the tents set up outside to expedite checkout, which is a clear indicator that demand is sky high and they need more space to handle all of this. Let’s expand the store so we sell more expensive merch and buy more expensive players and get John Middleton’s trophy back. Choo Choo! Get on the Capitalism train. The consumers are doing their part. And if they finish this before the 2026 All-Star Game, MLB can sell a bunch of ASG gear to nasty Yankees and Red Sox fans.
