Shout Out to Me For Feeling a Little Bad That Daniel Jones Was Booed After the Giants Loss
That’s what we call growth, people. I don’t understand the weird feeling in my loins right now, but I think this is what they call empathy, because I saw this video and immediately felt bad for Daniel Jones. The backpack like he was getting off the bus, the slumped head after a long day of bullying, and the fried vocal cords of a kid with a C average at Rutgers yelling at Danny Pennies that he needed a mil. Guy looked like a zoo animal being taunted by the customers and he couldn’t rip their faces off:
Daniel Jones got chirped and booed by Giants fans after throwing more pick 6’s than touchdowns yesterday

I’m all for criticizing players when they don’t perform well. Boo all you want. It’s the least harmful thing you can do to a player. Especially a guy who gets paid nine figures and has more pick sixes than he does TDs since he signed the deal. He’ll be long gone while these fans remain rooting for this team for the rest of their lives. That’s why I still hold resentment towards Carson Wentz and we’ve been back to a Super Bowl since he left. Fuck zit neck. He was supposed to bring us multiple championships and multiple MVP seasons. He had to go be a dick in the locker room and refuse to play for the team just because he couldn’t handle our love for the backup. If it wasn’t for the hindsight and testicular fortitude of the league’s best GM, it would’ve set most franchises back a decade. Still, it baffles me that Giants let their millionaire athletes walk back to their cars in front of a bunch of pissed off New Yorkers with nothing to lose and a couple of mall cops to protect them. John Mara must have an amazing insurance policy out on his QB in case he takes a beer bottle off the dome.
This is the beautiful thing about life. Just as I was growing and I finally learn what empathy is, I’m ready to turn back into my werewolf form when I see a Giants beat reporter have a meltdown on Twitter about this whole thing. Now I’m back to agreeing with Giants fans:
Fans staying to taunt Daniel Jones as he leaves the MetLife players entrance is bogus. Sorry, it is.
And to be proud of it? Man, you guys need to check yourselves.
Boo all you want. You spend good money. You deserve a better product.
But … damn. Pathetic.

Did this guy just contradict himself in one tweet? Staying after to boo Daniel Jones is bogus. But then he later says, “Boo all you want. You deserve a better product.” Isn’t this exactly what you’re encouraging them to do?
You’re actually only allowed to boo in areas this beat guy deems proper. Give me a break:
That’s not the point. Boo him all you want in the stadium. To go outside the stadium and wait at the players’ entrance, when they are leaving to go home, that’s weak. https://t.co/0BOlpJjexR

Pennies was never in harm’s way. He got a couple boos. Can we not overreact like Giants fans recreated January 6th?
And then we finish with the classic beat response of, “If you don’t like what I said. Unfollow!” –
I said what I said. You don’t like it, unfollow.
It’s just wrong, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see fans no longer allowed in that area because some people felt the need to wait around and taunt him going home.
He’s a big boy. He can handle it. Not the point, though.

Before responding to more fans. This guy couldn’t be more unbothered. Don’t accuse him of being bothered:
Nah, it’s not a New York “we’re tough” issue. It’s not. https://t.co/Z59RdpgPxp
— Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) September 9, 2024
No, it won’t happen again this year because fans are circulating the video and the NFL will likely put security in that area, so no fans will be allowed there.
Unfortunately, that will be the reaction. https://t.co/kXBFfTYWf6— Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) September 9, 2024
This is the players entrance/exit to the field in Dallas. The playing field.
I’m talking about the players’ entrance/exit to the parking lot, which is where Daniel Jones was leaving the stadium today. https://t.co/nH7UEqDCNW

This is the last he’ll say about this!
I mean, this is the last I’ll say to this:
Boo all you want. Express your anger. But players and coaches don’t leave the stadium out of the same exits as the general public – or anyone else, for that matter.
So this is an area that is set up for pregame fan experience, mostly.…

Before firing off one more for good measure:
Pregame. But keep twisting what I said. https://t.co/6WAUdWjm77

God football is so back!
