Striking Aramark Worker Weighs Decision to Donate Kidney to Son Because Loophole Won't Give Her Health Benefits
This week’s Men At Work (subscribe, like, share) is outside the Phillies game during the Aramark strike. Listen I try to go into these things as neutral as I can be, but after spending a couple hours talking to different people on strike and listening to their stories it’s fuck Aramark. All my homies hate Aramark. If you don’t feel like researching what’s going on between Aramark, it’s employees striking, and the Phillies here’s an hour of personal stories, inside details of negotiations, and a human element to the striking employees that will give you a better picture than anyone in the city is reporting. Real grassroots, boots on the ground journalism here:
If you’re going to a playoff game and this strike is still going on bring your own food and drink in. I know a lot of Phillies fans don’t know this, but you can bring stuff in as long as it’s unopened. So a Wawa hoagie or a water is fine to carry in a bag rather than paying $20 for a sandwich. Don’t give a red cent to Aramark during Red October. People are out here weighing the pros and cons of donating a kidney to their kids because of some loophole a douchebag lawyer wrote in a contract to save the billion dollar company some money.
