Checking the Eagles quote sheet after the Pittsburgh win. Here’s QB1 Jalen Hurts:

On if his finger is broken and if the injury impacted his play:

Yes, it’s broken, and it did impact my play.”

On how his finger injury impacted his play:

“Yeah. I mean it’s broken, so yeah.”

He appeared on the injury report this week and then was photographed walking up to the Linc with a wrapped ring finger on his non-throwing hand. Obviously it didn’t affect the passing game, because he completed 25 of 32 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns. Ball protection? Seemed fine. The fumble didn’t have anything to do with the broken finger and he wasn’t even holding the ball in that hand anyway. There was another sequence later where T.J. Watt got him from behind and he someone held on. Fans and media were wondering mostly how it would impact the tush push or other parts of running game, where he might be getting crunched in the pile or exposing the left hand to contact. He ended up running 15 times for 45 yards and a score, and the shove worked fine, so no issues executing. However it affected Jalen’s play, it didn’t show up in the box score. 335 combined passing and rushing yards and 3 TDs. He looked great out there. Probably in discomfort, but he didn’t show it.
