Mike Trout Was Ready to Fight the Steelers Offense With Darius Slay
There aren’t many bigger Eagles fans in the sports world than Angels outfielder and Millville native Mike Trout.
Darius Slay talked Thursday morning on his podcast, and said that he got a text from Trout after the Steelers game saying that Trout was ready to jump the rail and have Slay’s back in the end zone melee. Trout has season tickets in the VIP section, and although I haven’t seen him in any videos, he’s usually at all of the December home Eagles games. This week? He was ready to fight with Slay and the rest of the Eagles defense.
Slay talking about Trout wanting to join in on the fight on Sunday vs. the Steelers.
Come on, Mike. It’s time… force the trade (and make the Angels pay down a ton of the salary to make it semi-feasible). pic.twitter.com/JqYADvascA

If you haven’t seen the fight already, here’s the best angle that I’ve seen.

There were a million takeaways from that fight on Sunday, but it was nice to see the boys have each other’s back. Quinyon Mitchell was ready for all of the smoke. The guy who ran Slay into the wall backed up quick when he saw Jalen Carter run over. Once Slay was free, he wasn’t backing down. That’s the Fangio way!
Mike…come home. You love the Eagles. You’d be a 30-second walk from your season tickets. You have a September Sunday game at 1:00? Perfect, you’ll be there in time for a 4:25 Eagles start. Don’t overthink it. Come home and play for the Phillies (but like Fritz said, make sure the Angels pay down that salary).
