Was waiting for this:

Browns, Bengals, Ravens, Steelers – check. Done and done. The Eagles swept that division.

What’s interesting is to look through past seasons to see how many times they’ve done this. Not to the AFC North, but to any other division that is not the NFC East. They almost did it to the AFC East last season, but lost to the Jets. Here’s a quick bit of research going back 20 years:

  • 2024: swept AFC North
  • 2022: swept the NFC North, swept the AFC South
  • 2018: just missed out on sweeping the AFC South with that overtime loss in Tennessee
  • 2017: no sweeps actually because of the KC and Seattle losses, went a combined 6-2 against the AFC West and NFC West
  • 2014: swept the AFC South
  • 2008: swept the NFC West
  • 2004: swept NFC North

So that’s six sweeps of other divisions going back two decades. We could go back further, but you won’t find much there. At least I don’t think the Eagles owned any other division during the Ray Rhodes and Richie Kotite era, but if you wanna take a gander, knock yourself out. Go Birds.
