Arizona State Scored on a Play Called "Philly Special"
Did you watch Arizona State/Texas? Awesome game. Double overtime. Sun Devils running back Cam Skattebo, who is a behemoth, threw a TD pass on a play named after the Birds:
Cam Skattebo told us that the halfback-option pass is called “Philly Special” and the pass was supposed to go back to the QB.
“I checked down to my wide receiver.”

Skattebo finished with 143 rushing yards and 99 receiving yards. He ran for two touchdowns and threw a third TD for 42 yards, so if you add those up it’s 284 all-everything yards and three TDs. He’s a bowling ball out there, just super-tough and hard to bring down. There was a play near the end of the game where he got into the end zone with the help of an offensive lineman, who suplexed him across the goal line. It was like Taz vs. The Dudley Boyz in the old ECW days. Shame ASU blew it though. They got cooked on a fourth down defensively, then allowed Texas to score on the first play of the second OT and that was basically all she wrote. Proved they belong though, if that’s worth anything.
