Ben Simmons said some nice things about Philly fans in a recent podcast appearance. Looking through some of the replies, there seems to a portion of Sixers fans who think Ben should come home:

I don’t know how many of these tweets are serious, or if there’s any significant portion of fans who want to see Ben back in Philadelphia, but if the split is currently 85/15, or 80/20, it should be 100/0, with 100% of the fan base wanting nothing to do with him and 0% wanting a Simmo redux.

Why? Well even if the relationship is mended and we forgive his ridiculous holdout and Philadelphia departure, you’re talking about a guy who is more injured and a worse basketball player than the version we saw in Philadelphia. Ben has played 66% of the available games this season, which is a contract year, and is averaging 6.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists while logging 25.3 minutes per night on a 14-31 Nets team. He shoots 55.5% from the floor and this season has attempted about 94% of his shots from inside of 10 feet. He still has no jumper, not a mid-range shot or even that nascent elbow look he used to try. He does not shoot three pointers and he does not command attention on the perimeter unless he is handling the ball. All of the same problems we spent years arguing about still exist. He has not miraculously turned into a multi-level scoring threat in Brooklyn. He’s still the same limited player he always was, just more mature off the court.

Now let’s get it back to the Eagles.
